Activities of Thai Working Group for an ASEAN
Human Rights Mechanism
1. The seminar on “Ensuring Responsibility
for International Crime within the Principle of Universal
Jurisdiction: The Challenge for ASEAN Criminal Justice
Cooperation" on 27-28 November 2003 at Anomor Hotel,
Bangkok
Objective:
- To provide participants a forum for exchange and
exchange knowledge and experiences on the concept of
responsibility for international crime and universal
jurisdiction
- To strengthen the cooperation among the ASEAN countries
for countering the international crime.
- To enhance ASEAN society achieves culture of respecting
the rule of law with in democratic society, and to end
culture of impunity.
Participants:
30 participants; judges, prosecutors, human rights lawyers,
human rights law advocates Law enforcement officers from
Southeast Asia countries.

2. Publishing on "International Criminal
Court and Thai Society"
Objective:

To understand the basic of International Criminal
Court (ICC)

3. Publishing book on “Promote of National
Human Rights Institution”
To propagate basic democratic rights as guaranteed by
Constitution, while educating the public at large on how
to access to HR institutions
Objective:
- To understand the basic of the human rights
Outline:
- To realize the roles of the organizations concerning
human rights such as Constitutional Court, the Administrative
Court, Ombudsman, National Human Rights Commission of
Thailand

4. Publishing book on “National Human Rights
Education Plan”
This book will be composing by two report on HRE which
organized by Mahidol University and Sukhothai University,
National Human Rights Education Plan which adopted by
government, directory of resource persons, guide introduce
interesting book on HR.
